Traineeship (07/2026-08/2026)

She is studying Architecture at the University of Thessaly in Volos. During her two-month internship at the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE), she studied Troumpa of Piraeus, exploring the social role of forms of entertainment and their contribution to the shaping of the urban landscape. Her research interests focus on the flourishing of rebetiko music and its relationship with sex work in Piraeus, with an emphasis on their spatial dimension withing the urban fabric.

International Traineeship (09/24 – 02/25) and Erasmus+ Mobility for Traineeship (05/2025-08/2025)

Caterina is currently a PhD candidate in Urban Studies (URBEUR) at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Graduate from the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a specialization in Global and Local Development. Her work explores the intersections between housing, tourism, and mobilities in Southern European cities. Her interest in these issues originates from research conducted in Athens, where she examined urban transformations and socio-spatial dynamics in one of the city’s central neighborhoods.

International Traineeship (05/2025-07/2025)

Master’s student (M1) in Migration at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), in partnership with the Institut Convergence Migration (ICM). Alix works on issues related to housing, social mix, and spatial segregation. Through this Master’s program, she have studied access to housing for vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on migrant populations.
